Course Overview

  • The Workplace Safety & Health (Construction) Regulations 2007 reg. 60(2,3,4) states that
  • A formwork supervisor shall be appointed to supervise the construction, erection, alteration or dismantling of any formwork structure in a worksite.
  • No person shall be appointed as a formwork supervisor in a worksite unless he has received adequate safety and health training to familiarize him with the hazards associated with the construction, erection, alteration or dismantling of the formwork structure and the precautions to be observed.
  • No formwork structure shall be constructed, erected, altered or dismantled in a worksite except under the immediate supervision of a formwork supervisor.

At end of the Course, Participants will acquire good knowledge & skill in:

  • SS580 : 2012 Code of Practice for Formwork
  • SS311 : 2005 Specification for steel tubes and fittings used in tubular scaffolding
  • Roles & responsibilities of Formwork Supervisor
  • Fundamentals of formwork structure construction
  • Construction drawings of formwork
  • Practical aspects and considerations of formwork


There are four skill sets required for the FSCS

  • Assist in carrying our risk assessment for formwork activities
  • Apply the fundamentals of formwork structure construction
  • Ensure formwork structure construction is in accordance with approved design

Target Audience Entry Requirements Assumed Skills & Knowledge
This course is designed for personnel appointed to supervise the construction, erection, alteration or dismantling and inspection of formwork structures at any worksite. Must be over 18 years of age Singapore citizen, permanent resident or holder of valid employment pass / work permit.


ESS WPLN Level 4 or equivalent

Note: Participants are required to submit a copy of highest education certificate at time of application



Course Details

Course Duration: 36 Hours comprising theory and written assessment (4 hours)

Day Class: 4.5 Days / 4.5 Sundays Programme (08.30am to 6.30pm);

Evening Class:  9 Evenings Class (06:00pm to 10:00pm)

Course Attendance Record: 75% attendance

Methodology Assessment
Classroom instruction, Case Studies, Videos and Photographs, Other e-resources and instructional Media –     100 Multiple choice Question

–     Role Play; Case Study, Risk Assessment




Results will be released within 1 week after course ends. Upon Successful completion of the course, a Safety Pass and Certificate of Achievement endorse by Fonda Global Engineering Pte ltd will be issued to all eligible participants.
